John Boyd is currently secretary of the Campaign against Euro-federalism (CAEF) and chairman of the European Alliance of EU sceptical Movements (TEAM). He is a founder member of CAEF which is oriented towards the labour and trade union movement and is editor of CAEF ’s journal, The Democrat. He is currently writing a series of pamphlets entitled ‘How the EU Operates’. He has been a member of the cross-party Campaign for an Independent Britain (formerly British Anti-Common Market Campaign) of which he has been a vice chairman. . As an engineer, he says he is a walking example of what has happened since Britain joined the Common Market in 1973. This talk is part of the Department of Sociology Seminar Series series.
