Joe Armstrong of Polytec Ltd (www.polytec-ltd.co.uk) will describe how a laser vibrometer can remotely measure and display the vibration patterns of structures on scales ranging from an insect leg, to a car body, to a pylon. We are planning to include a practical demonstration. Date: Tuesday 23rd June 2015 Time: Refreshments served from 18.30. Talk starts at 19.00. Ends by 21:00 following questions and discussion. Venue: Institute for Manufacturing, Cambridge University, Alan Reece Building, 17 Charles Babbage Road, Cambridge CB3 0FS (directions). Parking: Car parking arrangements have changed and all car parks now have barriers. Information on where to park is posted on the event website Free to attend. Booking not required. All welcome. This talk is open to the public and is suitable for young people, students and engineers.
