Venue: History of Art Lecture room Abstract: In the lecture several projects and studies will be shown to give an overview of current topics in computation in architecture, ranging from new representation techniques to parametric-design approaches, Building Information Modeling, digital fabrication and simulation methods. Biography: Christian Bauriedel studied Architecture in Munich and Urban Planning in Kaiserslautern, Germany. He received his PhD (Dr. Ing.) at the Bauhaus-University of Weimar and taught at several Universities like the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Washington D.C., University of Applied Sciences in Munich and the American University in Cairo, receiving several awards and scholarships. He is currently professor for architecture and energy efficient design at Augsburg University of Applied Sciences. In parallel he runs an architectural firm since 2002 in Munich and has realized projects in the fields of housing, manufacturing and leisure, most of them related to computation and sustainability.
