We consider a typical phase I/II trial where the objective is to find the MTD as well as efficient estimation of the underlying parameters of the model. First, we discuss various design strategies. We then provide a group sequential strategy for updating the optimal design distribution in a group-wise manner. The sequential optimal design converges to the true optimal design.
