Mathematical and Statistical Approaches to Climate Modelling and Prediction

This talk will give an overview of the activities, emerging issues and findings from the programme. These include:

  1. the statistical combination of scenarios, of model ensembles and of parametrisation values, including constraints from observations, all with their related uncertainties
  2. the approach to inferences from paleo-data
  3. some developments in identifying approaches to “tipping points”
  4. contributions that reduced models may make to our understanding.

This talk is part of the Isaac Newton Institute Seminar Series series.
