WHTW02 - WHT Follow on: the applications, generalisation and implementation of the Wiener-Hopf Method The problem of diffraction of a waveguide mode by a transversal Dirichlet strip is considered. It is shown that this problem can be formulated as a 4×4 matrix Wiener-Hopf problem, where the kernel may be reduced to a 2×2 factorisable matrix in the symmetric case. The applicability of the iterative Wiener-Hopf method for the kernel in the general case is investigated. A numerical method is applied to derive the solution in terms of the tailored lattice Green’s function. This talk is part of the Isaac Newton Institute Seminar Series series.
