‘Bamboo wind turbine blades raise spirits in China’

Dr Jim Platts is a lecturer in Design and Manufacturing in the Institute for Manufacturing. He has a strong interest in sustainable communities, and is supporting the development of wind turbine technologies in China. He will talk about the use of bamboo as a material for wind turbine blades, and how his work is directly benefiting children in remote Chinese villages.
