The oldest, most metal-poor stars in the Milky Way are remnants from the early Universe and can teach us about the First Stars and early galaxy formation. I will summarise how these stars can be used and I will present recent results from the Pristine survey, which is extremely efficient at finding these stars in both the Galactic halo and in the inner Galaxy.
