If you have a question about this talk, please contact . The SAP Rural Sourcing Management solution is a cloud-based technology recording information on smallholder producers, their farms and their communities. The solution is targeting the 1st mile of the agricultural value chain and promotes an enhanced management of sustainability data through digital records. Field agents collect data on farmer registration, purchasing, field processing, inputs, logistics and many more to provide information relevant to stakeholders along the entire value chain. Configuring and rolling out a mobile digital solution in a rural context in the Global South comes with a number of challenges in terms of physical infrastructure, (computer) illiteracy and the need for specialized change management and intercultural sensitivity. In this talk Jörg Dörflinger (SAP Solution Architect) and Carsten Friedland (SAP Product Manager) will present the Rural Sourcing Management solution, elaborate on the implementation approaches used in the field and share some of their experiences from projects of the last years.
