MESW02 - Electricity systems of the future: incentives, regulation and analysis for efficient investment We will discuss the design and performance of some stochastic auctions designed to accommodate flexibility and hence penetration of intermittent renewable energy generation. We will examine these auctions in the context of competitive markets as well as oligopolies. We will also shed some light on using such mechanisms in markets where the participants are risk averse.
