Learning, leadership and their interrelationship are our central concern. Our work is characterised by:
  • A distinctive identity and an independent voice.
  • Members of the network learning and working together.
  • Sensitivity to policy issues but independent of transient priorities.

Leadership for Learning: the Cambridge Network (LfL) was founded in 2001 by John MacBeath, David Frost, Sue Swaffield and Kate Myers. The decision to create a network, rather than a physical leadership ‘centre’, was based on the view that although LfL has a Faculty locus its main activities would be ‘out there’ among its members and associates. They, together with Faculty staff, international researchers and key policy makers, engage in activities that develop a web of collaborative knowledge creation and exchange.
