On March 11, the Centre of Governance and Human Rights will be co-hosting an Asylum Monologues event with Cambridge University Amnesty International, Cambridge Student Action for Refugees (STAR), and ice&fire. Ice&fire is a London-based charity that aims to explore human rights stories through performance. Launched in June 2006, Asylum Monologues is one of the organization’s signature events, and it uses the performances of actors to provide a first-hand account of the UK’s asylum system in the words of people who have experienced it. After the performances, attendees will be encouraged to participate in a discussion about translating their emotional responses to the testimonies into political action.

This talk is part of the Centre of Governance and Human Rights Events series.
