BID - Quantum field theory with boundaries, impurities, and defects

I will present a formalism for deriving Ward-Takahashi identities for correlation functions on (conformal) defects. Defects break part of the symmetries of the ambient theory; always the spacetime symmetries and sometimes also internal symmetries. The symmetry persists, though now it is nonlinearly realised. After reviewing the definition of tilt and displacement operators and discussing the linear action, I will explain how non-linear relations are encoded. The formalism allows to derive new identities for correlation functions of operators on defects and, time permitting, I will present some applications of those identities.
