DESCRIPTION:I will present a formalism for deriving Ward-Takahashi identit
ies for correlation functions on (conformal) defects. Defects break part o
f the symmetries of the ambient theory\; always the spacetime symmetries a
nd sometimes also internal symmetries. The symmetry persists\, though now
it is nonlinearly realised. After reviewing the definition of tilt and dis
placement operators and discussing the linear action\, I will explain how
non-linear relations are encoded. The formalism allows to derive new ident
ities for correlation functions of operators on defects and\, time permitt
ing\, I will present some applications of those identities.
