OGGW04 - Stability and probabilistic methods

I will introduce the notion of Hilbert–Schmidt stability and highlight its key differences from the operator-norm variant of stability. I will survey several known results and techniques in this area, as well as discuss applications of Hilbert–Schmidt stability to other topics in group theory and operator algebras.
