The advance of open source software, open hardware systems such as Arduino, alongside 3D printing technologies and open biological tools, is boosting a maker ethos in science. Come along and try your hand at solving design challenges using open source technologies.

This Meetup is a free-form version of the monthly Science Makers gathering. It’s a chance to:

• Work on projects with the Biomaker Challenge teams.

• Find out about a range of projects in low-cost equipment for molecular biology and imaging, see how internet of things technology is making it easier than ever before to connect equipment together and operate it remotely.

• Build equipment for the Biomakespace, a fledgling community lab for biology and engineering being established at the Biomedical Campus.

This talk is part of the Engineering Biology Interdisciplinary Research Centre series.
