“Most researchers are only exposed to a small part of the process of problem identification through to delivering a solution. Research projects are mostly incremental, they build on previous projects and opens new questions for future research. It can be useful to understand how the starting point of a project was arrived at and what legacy may be left. Also projects at different stages of the problem-solution process requires different ways of conceptualising the (sub) problem and use different methodologies, methods and data sources. In this work the author will present a view of the whole research process and how different stages use different approaches. The whole process will be explained using methodological constructs and a diagrammatic model”. Interactive discussion is encouraged.
