Following the seminar on ‘The Indian National Movement’, this lecture proposes a comparative analysis of selected visual records, interviews and private papers documenting several fictionalized narratives as well as first-hand experiences of Partition. The lecture includes sub-thematic strands that look at gender, military and diplomatic conflict. (Participants might find some of the images disturbing.)
