How does a modern editor strike the balance between retaining public-good, investigative journalism – the bedrock of any democracy – and the populist celebrity/lifestyle content that attracts bigger audiences? With the industry grappling to find a new business model for digital content – and media company shareholders demanding higher returns – how can the survival of quality journalism be ensured?
