How do you manage your research data? Should you do it differently?

Perhaps your research is going well, your industrial partner is delighted with the results – they will have a great competitive advantage. But the Research Councils want you to make the data widely available for others. Maybe your industrial partner isn’t so happy now?

Maybe you are working with partner academics but who decides how the research data is managed and disseminated? When can it be shared with academic groups outside the partnership? And how is it being managed by other academic groups inside the partnership? And our American cousins?

Dan Crane, Research Support Librarian in the Engineering Department will discuss good practice in managing data, provide some pragmatic tips for how to do it most easily and effectively and provide a case study to bring it all to life.
