If you have a question about this talk, please contact HoD Secretary, DPMMS. This talk has been canceled/deleted I will introduce the basic objects of study in moduli spaces arising in complex dynamics, such as Julia sets, the Mandelbrot set, and post-critically finite maps. I will discuss the André-Oort phenomenon in the dynamical setting as first studied by Baker-DeMarco. Recently, Ghioca, Nguyen, Ye, and myself proved a case of the dynamical André-Oort conjecture; I will discuss our work, and why our proof includes an analysis of the combinatorial structure of the Mandelbrot set.
