Douglas Hurd served as Foreign Secretary in both the Major and the Thatcher Governments. During twenty-three years in Parliament he also served as Home Secretary and Secretary of State for Northern Ireland. Now a Conservative peer, Lord Hurd’s talk to the society is entitled ’Is there a new Conservative party?’
