This is the first of three public lectures and a concluding symposium given by historian Margaret MacMillan, Humanitas Visiting Professor of War Studies 2013/14.

Professor of International History at Oxford, and Warden of St Antony’s College, Margaret MacMillan is a frequent commentator in the media on historical issues and current affairs. She sits on the boards of organisations including the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism, International History, First World War Studies and the Institute for Historical Justice and Reconciliation, and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature.
