Petra is a registered dietitian and has a PhD in food and nutrition. She works as a senior lecturer at the Department of Food and Nutrition, teaching in several areas; public health nutrition, food in old age, food in pregnancy, lactation and infanthood, amongst others. Petra’s PhD thesis examined barriers to and facilitators of dietary change, particularly in relation to healthy dietary change. She started her career as a dietician working with the care of elderly people, and is currently planning a new research project, together with Åse Tieva and researchers at the Departments of Informatics, Community Medicine and Rehabilitation, and Public Health and Clinical Medicine, aiming to improve nutritional intake among elderly people by means of Information and Communications Technology (ICT).
