The French Department Ciné-Club will be screening ‘Le grand voyage’, by Ismaël Ferroukhi, in French and Arabic with English subtitles. The film will be introduced by Hannah Kilduff (Department of French, Cambridge) and followed by a short discussion. Synopsis: Just a few weeks before his baccalauréat, Réda finds himself forced to drive his father to Mecca. Silence and reproaches separate father and son, but as the road trip wends its way across the ten countries that lie between Provence and Mecca, the inner journey of reconciliation and discovery begins… This event is free and open to all.
