Stuart Franklin has covered more than 20 assignments for the magazine on subjects such as Inca conqueror Francisco Pizzaro, Shanghai, and the hydro-struggle in Quebec.
He has travelled extensively with Greenpeace in Antartica and has earned several photographic awards such as the World Press photo award.
He is a talented Geographer himself, receiving his PhD in Geography from Oxford in 2002.
