If you have a question about this talk, please contact Equality & Diversity. Come along and discuss the University’s work on equality and diversity and the law. 2010 saw significant developments with regard to progressing equality and diversity within the University. Most recently, the Equality Act 2010, which received Royal Assent in April 2010 came into force in October, harmonised previously disparate areas of equalities law to create parity across a number of different but equally recognised ‘protected characteristics’. The University’s Equality Schemes and Action Plans have been updated to produce a Combined Equality Scheme (CES) for Race, Gender and Disability. The CES was developed to enable future inclusion of other equality strands in line with legislative change. These developments will shape the future direction of the University’s equality and diversity work. However, in order to develop comply with the law and develop good practice we want to hear your views. This talk is part of the Equality & Diversity Events series.
