A one-day invitational seminar in honour of the late Professor Jean Rudduck

This international seminar brings together scholars from the worldwide academic community in honour of the work of the late Professor Jean Rudduck and presents an opportunity for dialogue about past efforts, current trends, and future possibilities in student voice work in primary, secondary, and tertiary education contexts.

The seminar is being organised jointly by Professor Alison Cook-Sather (Bryn Maw College, Pennsylvania and Visiting Scholar at University of Cambridge), Dr Helen Demetriou (Research Associate, Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge) and Julia Flutter (Research Associate, Cambridge Primary Review, University of Cambridge). It will combine brief presentations with small-group sessions to support the exchange of ideas, experiences and future directions. Participants are invited to highlight approaches to, and findings of, student voice work at different levels and in various contexts, looking across projects and programmes for lessons learned and ways forward. Our goals in hosting this seminar are to inform people of past and current efforts; to disseminate the seminar outcomes for a wider audience and to generate ideas for future projects and developments in educational practice around the world.

(2) Send to Alison Cook-Sather (acooksat@brynmawr.edu) by May 1, 2011, a 2-3 page overview of your work. Please also send a list of 5-10 publications on student voice work that you think should be included in any comprehensive bibliography on these efforts.
