Autonomous helicopter control has been a reality for some years now, but only recently has it achieved better-than-expert performance for difficult manoeuvres such as those seen in acrobatic flight. We will look at some of the modelling and machine learning algorithms behind the show, and hopefully give a taster for what state-of-the-art applied machine learning research looks like today.
