ABSTRACT: Educational success is key to achieve social inclusion. However, at present, many children in Europe fail in terms of their academic results, and consequently face discrimination and social exclusion. INCLUD -ED: Strategies for inclusion and social cohesion in Europe from education (2006-2011), the only Integrated Project focused on schooling within the Research Framework Programmes of the European Commission, tackles this situation. INCLUD -ED clarifies which actions generate school failure and exclusion, and which ones produce academic success and lead to social cohesion, especially for social and cultural groups that have traditionally been marginalised. The later actions are called Successful Educational Actions (SEA). Case studies of successful schools around Europe have led to the identification of those SEAs, which in all cases reduce the school failure rate and improve the living together. SEA emerge as universal and transferrable practices that are creating successful learning environments anywhere they are implemented. This talk will address the main results from the research that are contributing to guarantee educational success for all in Europe.
