If you have a question about this talk, please contact Emilio Aldorino. How can we image the geology on the boundary between the mantle and core nearly 3000 km down? How does the deep Earth shape our surface? What do we know about our inner core? Global Seismology is the study of what lies within our planet using seismic waves. In my talk, I will give a brief introduction to seismic waves and seismological techniques, as well as a history of the field. I will take you on a journey to the centre of the planet, highlight some of the mysterious features we observe. If time permits, I will touch on recent mission of a seismometer to Mars.
