The veteran British environment journalist George Monbiot says that “Curtailing climate change must … become the project we put before all others. If we fail in this task, we fail in everything else”. Based on my latest book ‘Climate Change Isn’t Everything’, I will interrogate this claim and suggest some of the dangers of calling the changing climate an “emergency” which must be dealt with at any cost and before anything else.
