Monoidal categories are widely studied in mathematics and computer science, but their axiomatisation is too strict for some purposes. Among the weaker varieties, skew-monoidal categories have seen particular interest and a range of applications. This talk will present the skew versions of many familiar categorical constructions, and discuss some elegant results that fit naturally in the asymmetric setting of skew categories.
