If you have a question about this talk, please contact Dr. HaoyangYe. I’m excited to announce that Dr. Charlotte Simmonds from Kavli/Cavendish, will be delivering the third talk of our Astro Career Talk Series on Friday, 3th May from 3:30-4:30 PM. Dr. Charlotte Simmonds’ short bio: My name is Charlotte Simmonds, I grew up in Chile and have had a very non-linear career path. I am currently a Kavli/Cavendish postdoc working on understanding the ionising properties of galaxies at the Epoch of Reionisation, mostly through JWST NIR Cam photometry. As an observational astronomer, my research spans galaxy evolution, data processing, and cutting-edge instrumentation. I obtained my Astronomy bachelor degree in Chile (PUC), and later went on to get a PhD in the University of Geneva, in Switzerland. Before being an astronomer, I did many things, one of them was to be a high school music teacher. From that time I hold bachelor degrees in Music and in Education. The latter is still my greatest passion and I incorporate outreach and education into my career as much as possible. While obtaining my degrees I had to work on basically anything I could to make a living, so I have work experience in the service industry, as a translator, as a musician for events, as a violoncello tutor, and other weird random things. Apart from my non-linear education and career path, I am also passionate to talk about:
