“Good-Old Fashioned Artificial Intelligence” successfully uses formal
logic to solve a wide variety of problems, including knowledge
representation, planning and learning. However, it encounters major
difficulties when dealing with one of the most prevalent realities of
our world: uncertaintly. We will introduce the statistical approach of
neural networks, and explore its expressivity, ability to cope with
incomplete or corrupted data, and powerful learning methods.
