Organised by the Scott Polar Research Institute, Cambridge Visual Culture, and The Heong Gallery This panel discussion will introduce Project Naming and the collected volume introducing its work, Atiqput: Inuit Oral History and Project Naming (2022). The speakers are co-editors of the volume. Here historic photographs from Canada’s federal archive are reframed by Inuit in order to celebrate Inuit naming practices and to rewrite the southern/western archive.
