With the breakthrough in treating Alzheimer’s Disease, recently reported in the press, the Guarantors of Brain have invited Professor Nick Fox to talk about preventing the disease, prospects and challenges.

Speaker’s Biography: Nick Fox is Professor of Clinical Neurology at UCL ’s Institute of Neurology where he is Director of the Dementia Research Centre. He leads the Dementia Theme of the NIHR UCLH Biomedical Research Centre and is a Group Leader and founder member of the UK Dementia Research Institute. He is a member of the Alzheimer’s Society Research Strategy Council. He is a consultant neurologist at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery where he runs a specialist cognitive clinic. He has clinical and research interests in young onset and familial dementias and helped set up the first UK support groups for these disorders. His research focus has been on improving diagnosis and using imaging and biomarkers to accelerate the search for effective therapies.
