If you have a question about this talk, please contact Ben Karniely. This talk has been canceled/deleted PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE OF ROOM . THE TALK WILL TAKE PLACE IN FW26 , NOT FW11 . Abstract Quantum computing is an emerging new technology which promises to completely change computing as we know it. In particular, the advent of quantum computers poses a serious threat to cybersecurity. Encryption methods hailed as ‘unbreakable’ by classical computers can be cracked by quantum computers in a matter of hours. In this talk, we will discuss the basics of quantum computing and how it could be used to attack common encryption algorithms. We also introduce and evaluate the top candidates to replace our current encryption methods for a post-quantum era. Speakers Leading this presentation is Data Reply’s Quantum Computing Consultant Anuj Doshi, an Oxford alumnus who has been working on quantum computing applications for over a year, specializing in quantum circuit architectures in machine learning. Joining him is recent Cambridge graduate Vasundhara Prasad, who has previously worked on financial uses of gate-based quantum computing and is now working on other quantum computing applications. About Data Reply Data Reply is the Reply Group company offering a broad range of analytics and data processing services. We operate across different industries and business functions, working directly with executive level professionals, enabling them to achieve meaningful outcomes through effective use of data. We support companies in designing and implementing human-centered data products to turn embryonic ideas into enterprise solutions. We aim at handling trade-offs among business requirements and technical constraints, developing holistic Big Data architectures and ensuring cybersecurity and data protection. We have strong competences in Big Data Engineering, Data Science and IPA ; we build Big Data platforms and implement ML and AI models in a manner that is repeatable, efficient, scalable, simple and yet secure. We support companies in combinatorial optimization processes with Quantum Computing techniques that enable an engine with high computational performances.
