The eighth conference hosted by the Cambridge Journal of Regions, Economy and Society will take place on 17 September 2021, on the theme “Regions Economy and Society in the Post Covid World”. This will be a free one day online conference.

The conference is related to two forthcoming issues of CJRES , “The Post-Covid City” and “The State and the Covid Crisis“. The conference themes will focus first, on the impacts of the Covid Pandemic on cities and whether and in what ways cities will/should be reconfigured economically, socially and spatially as countries emerge and rebuild from the pandemic; and , second, on the ways in which states have responded in their attempts to control and ameliorate the effects of the pandemic, and whether and how far these interventions point to the case for new state forms and policy architectures.
