If you have a question about this talk, please contact Lotte Elton . Global health partnerships have proliferated over the last decades, forging new links between governments, civil society, international organisations and the private sector. What is their role in global health, and what does the future hold? Our speaker: Dr Neil Squires has had a varied international career, from being a District Medical Officer in Malawi, training in Public Health in the North West, then working with the Department for International Development, covering West and North Africa, then based in Bangladesh, followed by Brussels, with the European Commission working on global health workforce issues, then Mozambique prior to 3 years as Head of Health at DFID . Neil is currently Director of Global Health at Public Health England, which has rapidly expanded its global engagement. Neil will reflect on the evolution of global health during his time working internationally, looking at the changing nature of aid and the mutual benefit that comes from developing strong international partnerships. He will set out how Public Health England’s new Global Health Strategy aims to strengthen global networks and collaboration, strengthen global health security and support action against major global threats to health and wellbeing. * Everyone is welcome!
