If you have a question about this talk, please contact Matthew Priddin. Exponentially small terms are often key to understanding the structure of asymptotic solutions to differential equations with small parameters. Often these are singular perturbations in which the unperturbed solution does not arise from the limit of the perturbation tending to zero. I will be looking at one such example of this in the Kuramoto-Sivashinsky equation and techniques for finding these exponentially small terms, along with their associated Stokes and anti-Stokes lines.
