What role can modelling have in the design of catchment-scale Natural Flood Management?Add to your list(s) Download to your calendar using vCal
If you have a question about this talk, please contact Tim Forman. In recent years, catchment-wide approaches for mitigating flood risk have become increasingly common throughout the UK. One such approach is to use Natural Flood Management interventions (tree planting, moor restoration, woody-debris dams etc.) to ‘slow the flow’. Local stakeholders (often in groups such as Catchment Management Partnerships) now play a strong role in designing NFM , but face multiple challenges. This seminar will discuss these challenges to provide context for a novel coupled modelling methodology. Some initial results will also be presented to evaluate the ability of NFM to desynchronise river tributary responses.
