Please register at Eventbrite Orla will discuss her insights into the Automotive industry, particularly the unprecedented growth in importance and dependence on electrical systems. She will give examples from her work and testing at Jaguar Land Rover in this area. This includes working as an acoustic engineer, designing and calibrating the audio systems within the vehicles, to problem solving and quality issues, to her latest project: Software Over-the-Air (SOTA). Orla Murphy is the IET Young Woman Engineer of the Year 2015 and the Royal Academy of Engineering Young Engineer of the Year 2016. She works as an engineer at Jaguar Land Rover, in the Electrical Engineering Department. Orla is very committed to encouraging more people into STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) careers. This talk is part of the IOP East Anglia Branch Applied Physics Seminars series.
