This annual seminar series is part of the ‘Visual Language and South Asian History’ Programme convened by Dr Annamaria Motrescu-Mayes (Clare Hall College and Centre of South Asian Studies). The Programme also includes the annual course on ‘Visual Rhetoric and modern South Asian history’ (Cambridge, http://talks.cam.ac.uk/show/index/50672) The aims of ‘Visual Constructions of South Asia’ seminar series are twofold. First, to introduce Cambridge under-/postgraduate students, academic staff, researchers at different career stages and visiting scholars to the ways in which visual research methods support the development of new perspectives on South Asian history and culture. Second, to align the University of Cambridge prospectus to contemporary developments and programs in visual culture and South Asian studies. Each seminar takes place on alternate Thursdays, 4:00p.m. – 6:00p.m, in S2 seminar room, Alison Richard Building, 7 West Road, Cambridge (unless otherwise stated). The dates for the 2015-16 seminar series are as follows: 15th October, 29th October, 12th November 2015; 21st April, 5th May, 19th May, and 2nd June 2016.
