The Science and Society initiative at EMBL was created in 1998 to promote a better understanding of the growing social and cultural relevance of the life sciences. It organises a variety of events where members of the scientific community, scholars from other disciplines, and members of the public meet to engage in fruitful dialogue about the changing role of biology in society.
