DESCRIPTION:*_The event takes place over two evenings – 28th and 29th Ma
rch 2018. Select one or both when you book._*\n\nChildren who are exposed
to social and economic adversity in the early years of life show increased
susceptibility to chronic diseases of aging\, like heart disease\, when t
hey reach their 50’s and 60’s. These findings raise challenging but fa
scinating mechanistic questions: How does early adversity “get under the
skin” in a manner that is sufficiently persistent to affect vulnerabili
ty to diseases that arise many decades later?\n\nThis symposium is a speci
al opportunity for detailed discussion with leading researchers and policy
makers in this field and we are delighted to invite you to attend. The eve
nt will be chaired by Professor Jonathan Mant\, Professor of Primary Care
Research and Head\, Primary Care Unit\, University of Cambridge.\n\nFree e
