DESCRIPTION:As described in my book The Seduction of Curves\, published by
  Princeton University Press in August 2017\, there are strong links betwee
 n Catastrophe Theory and many spheres of art. This talk will explore those
  historical links - most notably via the works of Salvador Dali and the Co
 nstructivist artist Naum Gabo. Extending beyond the book\, the talk will a
 lso look at what possible new avenues this may open up for creative explor
 ation in art and architecture\, ranging from light-based works through to 
 a proposed large scale structure/sculpture for the forthcoming Chelsea Flo
 wer Show.
