DESCRIPTION:X-ray observation has shown that there are a range
of X-ray sources that are not coincident with gal
actic nulei\, but have too high a luminosity to be
a black hole and too long a life to be supernovae
. They are referred to as Ultraluminous X-ray sour
ces\, or ULXs. Dr Dom Walton\, a researcher at the
Institute of Astronomy of University of Cambridge
\, will give a talk about these sources and the di
 scovery of them.
