DESCRIPTION:I describe two ways in which techniques from computer science\
, specifically machine learning\, are assisting doctors in medicine. First
\, deep neural networks can learn to predict locations of key surgical sit
es from raw image data. Second\, by processing large amounts of medical te
xts\, natural language processing techniques can automatically extract rel
evant medical information to aid patient diagnoses.
