DESCRIPTION:I present a renormalization group (RG) procedure w
hich works naturally on
\na wide class of interacting one-dimensio
n models based on perturbed
\n(possibly strongly) continuum
conformal and integrable models. This
\nprocedure integrates
Wilson's numerical renormalization group with
\nZamolodchi
kov's truncated conformal spectrum approach. The k
ey to the \n
method is that such theories provide a set of comp
letely understood
\neigenstates for which matrix elements ca
n be exactly computed. In this
\nprocedure the RG flow of physi
cal observables can be studied both
\nnumerically and anal
ytically. Furthermore the method is sufficiently
\nflexible t
hat it can be extended to the study of arrays of c
oupled one \n
dimensional systems through a density matrix renor
malization group
\nprocedure. To
\ndemonstrate the approach\, I p
resents results on the spectrum and
\ncorrelation
\nfunctions
of single quantum Ising chains and coupled arrays
thereof.\nI will also present some preliminary re
sults of single semiconducting\ncarbon nanotubes.\
